Halloween is near. Every year, more and more people celebrate this festivity without knowing its origin. In the last few years, it has become a worldwide known festivity, a sort of fashion induced by American films which has taken root in most European countries; a pagan tradition which involves lots of “curious” or “funny” rituals. Although our festivity of “Todos los Santos” (All Saints´ Day) is still celebrated in Spain, many young people refer it as “Halloween”. But what do these two festivities have in common? What is the relationship between them? Have you ever thought why pumpkins are carved to make a lantern? What ´s the name these scary pumpkins receive?
In this new post you will find two webquests. In the first one, you will learn about the history of Halloween whereas in the second one you will learn about pumpkins and other funny traditions carried out during the night of Halloween. In both of them, apart from learning, you will have the chance to play some on-line games.
I hope you have fun while doing the research.
